Who are the Board of Trustees (BoT)? Expand The role of the BoT is to provide strategic and financial oversight to the activities of the Plan Vivo Foundation. Whilst they are not involved in day-to-day activities, they are responsible for making management decisions in the best interests of the stakeholders. Plan Vivo always ensures that there is a public list of BoT members.
Who are the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC)? Expand The Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) operates under PV Climate and Acorn and is a group of experts in community forestry, carbon quantification, remote sensing, GIS, socioeconomic impact monitoring, and other technical areas. The TAC advises the Plan Vivo secretariat on technical matters relating to project certification and ensures that PV Climate continues to apply scientific rigour to Plan Vivo projects. Plan Vivo always ensures that there is a public list of TAC members.
Who are the Technical Review Panel (TRP)? Expand The Technical Review Panel (TRP) operates under PV Climate and Acorn. The purpose of the TRP for PV Climate is to ensure that projects and methodologies are aligning with the technical requirements the Plan Vivo Carbon Standard. Who are Validation and Verification bodies (VVBs)? Expand Validation and Verification Bodies (VVBs) are external auditing bodies that must be contracted to complete the validation and verification of macroscale projects wishing to achieve or maintain certification under PV Climate, Acorn or PV Nature. In order to carry out validation or verification processes, VVBs must apply for approval by the Plan Vivo Secretariat by disclosing their accreditation and their experience in auditing land use and forestry (LUF) projects. Who is Rabobank? Expand Rabobank is a Dutch multinational banking and financial services company who, since 1895, has primarily focussed on food and agribusiness. Rabobank manages the Acorn programme, with certification services provide by Plan Vivo.
Who is the Secretariat? Expand The Secretariat manages the day-to-day running of the Plan Vivo Foundation. This includes, but is not limited to, responding to enquiries, coordinating and/or participating in review processes, developing standard documentation, and managing the flow of finances. Secretariat members vary in the workstreams that they contribute to, with some only contributing to one workstream (e.g. PV Climate) and others working across a range of workstreams. Plan Vivo always ensures that there is a public list of Secretariat members.
